Sociology is an inter-disciplinary approach which focuses on recognizing and analyzing social determinants that shape our lives and offers a unique potential not only for understanding society, but also for social action and social change. It provides and understanding on how and why society functions together with the impact of social institutions on individual lives. Studying sociology can help foster students’ creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and analytical problem solving and communication skills. As a graduate and masters in sociology the students will have a foundation for better understanding and engaging with the globalised world. Aspirants can opt for job prospects in government sectors both Central and State Service Commissions.
