Academic Focus:
Master Degree in India is providing a base platform for those who want to get involved in higher education and to get good results in future. Physics is the branch of science which deals with the physical parameters. It has wide variety of application in day to day activities in all types of industries. Various specializations are there in Physics include Condensed Matter Physics, Electronics, High Energy Physics and Astro Physics. University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya is going to start Master’s Degree programme (M.Sc.) in Physics from 2016 session. The department as a part of USTM will take guidance from CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, CSIR-CRRI, NIT, Silchar, Gauhati University & Tezpur University with which USTM has already signed MoU.
Career Scope:
There is immense potentialities for post graduates in Physics to pursue advanced research or in industries as skilled Physicist. After completing M.Sc degree any student can easily pursue research which enables them to go for their dream organizations like BARC, ISRO, CSIR, Defance, Oil Sector, DRDO and many other national and international industries as well as research organisations. Moreover, teaching at graduate and post-graduate levels like in different Universities, Graduate colleges etc. also require a large number of well qualified faculty at M.Sc. and Ph.D. Levels
