Baridua, 9th Mile, Meghalaya, 17th May 2021: The Department of Computer Science & Electronics has celebrated World Telecommunication & Information Society Day on 17th May 2021 through Online mode.

In this Connection, a webinar was organized by the department with the theme “Accelerating Digital Transformation in challenging times”.

The Webinar was started with a brief introduction by Dr. Bhairab Sarma, HoD, CSE and introduce the speaker and elaborate highlighted about the Department of the University.

Speaker was Mr. Ramanuj Prasad Singh, CEO, Unixplus Infotech Private Limited. Ghaziabad, U.P., India. Sir highlighted that digital transformation is not only adaptation of new technology; it’s about directing an organization to be more adaptive to constantly changing environment. He explained evaluation of digital transformation from paper work to digitization and then digitization to digital transformation. Also explained how machine learning and artificial intelligence taking role in digital transformation. Different challenges being faced like under budgeting, missing the cultural things, lack of talented resources during this transformation was discussed. Digital transformation is very important. Cyber security role is to be intensified in this digital transformation. Finally Sir highlighted about top 10 digital transformation technologies.

Apart from the speaker, two student groups from our CS&E department nicely presented how the digital transformation is accelerating during this pandemic situation of COVID 19.

Our Vice Chancellor sir delivered lecture regarding importance of digital transformations and also suggested to conduct some awareness programs about 5G, Machine Learning etc.

Next our advisor sir, Dr. R.K. Sharma briefly elaborated how communication was done in ancient time. Total participants were 89.
