World Health Day 2021 observed at USTM

Baridua, 9th Mile, Meghalaya, 7th April 2021: The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, USTM observed the World Health Day at the university campus here today. The event which was celebrated with the theme “Building a Fairer, Healthier World” began with a welcome song by the students of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Habibul Islam, Dean, School of Allied Medical Science, USTM and was followed by a speech by Dr. R.K. Sharma, Advisor, USTM. To add more colors to the celebration, the students of the Pharmaceutical Sciences performed a street play in order to create awareness regarding health and well being. It was followed by the keynote address by Prof. G.D. Sharma, VC, USTM. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Physical health and Mental health are the parameters which indicates a healthy society.” “Our thoughts should be equally healthy as our body in order to achieve complete health”, he added. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where the winners of the essay writing competition and slogan writing competition were awarded with trophies and certificates. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Aditya Bora, Asst. Professor, School of Pharmaceutical sciences, USTM.
