Baridua, 9th Mile, Meghalaya, 23rd June 2021: A webinar on “Agri-Business Entrepreneurship” was conducted on 23rd June 2021 organized jointly by the Department of Applied Biology, University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya, NEATEHUB & NetProFaN-North East Chapter. The purpose of this webinar was to highlight the scope of entrepreneurship in the sector of food and agriculture and to guide the aspiring entrepreneurs to start their businesses.

The webinar was addressed by Mr. Subhas Bhattacharjee, Advisor cum Co-ordinator, NetProFaN – North East Chapter. He highlighted the scenario of agri-business in North-East India.

The webinar was then followed by an inaugural speech by our chief guest Dr.Bidyut Chandan Deka, Vice Chancellor, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. He started his speech with inspiring stories of successful entrepreneurs and emphasized on the importance of a positive mindset and determination for starting a start up.

The webinar was then graced by honourable Prof. (Dr) G. D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, USTM. Sir enlightened the participants on the importance of digital technology and marketing for any start up and how branding can play a significant role in making a start up successful.

The webinar was followed by a lecture delivered by the speaker of the event Dr. K. Karthikeyen., Chief Executive Officer, North East Agri Tech Entrepreneurs Hub (NEATEGUB). He gave a very informative presentation about the skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur. He also explained the process of applying to their incubator, NEATEHUB. He also highlighted the significance of a problem solving mindset to be successful entrepreneurs.

Around 200 participants including students, faculties, research scholars from USTM, NetProFaN community, AAU and other institutions joined the webinar.
