USTM Webinar Sessions on Educational Challenges @ COVID 19 concluded
Baridua, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya, Wednesday, 29th July, 2020: As the entire Educational sector of the Nation is trying its level best to keep the students updated with their syllabus amidst this crucial period of time brought about by the deadly Covid-19, the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya has successfully completed its more than a month long innovative Webinar Lecture Series today. The Lecture series was mainly organized for the benefit of the students community during this crucial period of COVID 19. The Webinar Lecture Series which began with an appealing lecture by Prof. Ved Prakash, former Chairman, UGC, on the topic ‘Institutional Strategies toward promoting quality in tertiary education: Continuity, Adaptation and Innovation’ on 10th June 2020 successfully came to an end today with the final lecture delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Dipika Deka, VC, SSUHS, Guwahati, on the topic ‘Responsibilities of Educational Institutions towards Health Safety Measures.’ Congratulating the USTM Webinar team for successfully completing its Lecture Series, Shri M. Hoque, Chancellor, USTM stated “All the sessions which witnessed a healthy participation of more than 1000 people per lecture is definitely a sign of success for the entire Webinar Lecture Series.” “Attending such productive webinars is the need of this hour for all the students and teachers of the Nation” he added. The various sessions of this webinar lecture series organized by USTM witnessed many eminent personalities across the Nation as the key note speakers on various topics. Prof. DP Agarwal (Former Chairman, UPSC), Prof. S S Mantha (Former Chairman, AICTE), Prof. Liaquat Ali (Former VC, BUHS, Dhaka, Bangladesh), Prof. Yasmin Saikia (Professor, Arizona University, USA), Prof. Sanjay Deshmukh (Former VC, University of Mumbai), Prof. KRS Sambasiva Rao (VC, Mizoram University), Dr. N. Annamalai (Associate Professor, IIT Kootayam, Kerala), Dr. Rupam Barman (Associate Professor, IIT Guwahati) etc are few of the other eminent personalities who addressed the participants on various topics throughout the series. The webinar sessions were held over Zoom app, and link/password for the same were provided to the registered participants only. Students pursuing UG and PG courses and teachers from all streams across the Nation actively participated in the various sessions of the Lecture series for which no registration fee was charged. All the participants were provided with e-certificates after the successful completion of the Series.
