9th Mile, Khanapara, 17 September 2018: The Regional Institute of Science & Technology has organized several competitions including quiz, debate and science model presentation among the students as part of the celebration of Engineers’ Day on last Saturday at its campus in Ninth Mile. The daylong events concluded with an inspiring speech by Sandeep Govil, the Chief General Manager of Assam Telecom Circle, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his address, Sandeep Govil motivated the students for a good work culture and said that he was much impressed with the models presented by the students. He said that constant dedication and hard work is the only key for success and that after the development of internet services and other technical advancements. He also emphasized on learning different branches of engineering along with the core branch. He advised students to go for higher studies in IITs and IISc by clearing GATE and try for TOFEL and other competitive examinations.
The winner students in quiz, debate and model presentation competitions were awarded with cash prizes and special prizes. More than five hundred students participated in the activities. Three senior members of ERDF and RIST, namely Dr. U K Sarma, Executive Director, RIST,
Dr. H K Baruah, Academic Director, ERDF and Dr. P C Mahanta, Director, RIST were felicitated for their successful journey in engineering and valuable contribution towards the society.
