Engineers Day 2021 Celebration



Baridua, 9th Mile, Meghalaya, 15th September 2021: The Department of Computer Science & Electronics had celebrated Engineers Day 2021 on 15th September 2021 in Virtual mode.

A Poster Making Contest held with a theme “Engineering for a Healthy Planet” for this event along with a guest speaker P. C. Lahkar. He was the Retired DGM from AMTRON.

The Programme had started at 10:00 AM with the welcome address by HoD, Computer Science & Electronics, Dr. Bhairab Sarma.

The Advisor to USTM, Dr. R.K. Sharma Sir briefly elaborated about the importance of this day.

The Posters of all the participants were displayed after the speech.

The Speaker started his speech with the current technologies used by the Engineers. He also talked about the importance of this day.

He mentioned that the Engineers play a vital role in the development of a society as well as a nation.

Lastly, the Speaker briefed on the skill of Engineers to be used in future development.
Next, the names of the winners of the Poster making Contest were declared.
Total participants were 25 from various departments of USTM.
The meeting was hosted by Rishiparna Choudhury.
Finally, Ms Daisy Sharmah has offered the Vote of Thanks.
Winners of the Poster Making Contest
1st Prize: Manum Rashid Barbhuiyan, B. Pharm, 2nd Sem.
2nd Prize: Himashree Kalita, Dept. of English.
3rd Prize: Alakesh Gogoi, BCA, 1st Sem.

Dr. Dhruba K Bhattacharyya, Professor & Pro Vice-Chancellor, Tezpur University, handled one session. That is the afternoon session on 7th September.

Dr. Upasana Talukdar, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati, handled one session. That is the afternoon session on 8th September 2021.

Dr. Krothapalli Sreenivasa Rao, Professor, Computer Science & Engineering Department, IIT Kharagpur, handled two sessions morning and afternoon session on 9th September 2021.

Dr. R. Vaskaran, Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering , Anna University, Chennai, handled one session. That is the morning session on 10th September 2021.

Dr. H. S. Hota, Associate Professor & HOD, Department of Computer Science & Application, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya, Bilashpur, Chhattisgarh, handled one session. That is the afternoon session on 10th September 2021.

81 participants from different universities, and colleges registered for the faculty development program. There was no registration fee for the FDP. The resource persons explained the importance and different applications of Artificial Intelligent, Machine Learning & Robotics and gave the direction for research.

Digital Certificates are issued to all participants. All the participants were benefitted getting new ideas on the topics.
