Brainstorming sessions held at USTM on Teachers’ role in implementation of National Education Policy (NEP)
A moment from the one day Webinar on Teachers’ Role in NEP Implementation
Baridua, 9th Mile, Meghalaya, 26th February 2021: University of Science & Technology Meghalaya in collaboration with Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal and NITI Aayog has conducted a Seminar cum Webinar on the emerging topic of Teachers’ role in NEP-2020 implementation, on 26th february 2021. Two prominent educationalists of India namely Prof. Kuldip Chand Agnihotri, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Central University of Himachal Pradesh and Prof. Raghvendra Prashad Tiwari, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Central University of Punjab have delivered their lectures emphasising on the role of teachers in promoting Indian languages and commented that the preservation and conservation of the same is imperative for the holistic development.
As a part of the Webinar, different brainstorming sessions were also conducted to discuss on the challenges of NEP-2020 with specific focus on teachers’ responsibilities towards implementing the same. Six tracks were identified for deliberation on different dimensions of teachers’ role in implementing and processing the same for holistic realization of the broader goals and prospects with regards to the new system of education.
In the valedictory session, the summary of the enriching discussions have been presented by the respective track leaders followed by an interactive session in presence of the Deans of different schools of the University and the eminent professors. The event was attended by Prof. G. D. Sharma, Hon. Vice Chancellor; Dr. R. K. Sharma, Advisor; Dr. B. K. Das, Director (Administration); Dr. A. H. Barbhuiya, Academic Registrar and all other faculty members of the University.
