Brainstorming session held with College Principals at USTM

Baridua, 9th Mile, Meghalaya, 19th February 2021: The University of Science & Technology Meghalaya today successfully organized a Brainstorming session with the principals of various Colleges with whom the University had earlier signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoU). The event began with a felicitation ceremony where the principals and their representative teacher coordinators were felicitated. It was followed by an introductory note by Dr. B. K. Das, Director (Admin), USTM. In his speech, Prof. G.D. Sharma, the Hon’ble VC, USTM highlighted the importance of having good linkage with various universities and colleges across the Nation as well as abroad. He stressed on the main criteria of signing MoUs with various colleges and universities. He said “To provide adequate opportunities and exposure to students is the main importance of MoUs.” “Students can get good exposure to knowledge by visiting the college/Universities and also inviting professors from different universities under MoU”, Prof. Sharma added. He also said that MoUs play a vital role in having joint research programs. Prof. Sharma highlighted how organizing collaborative seminars can be beneficial to students. Through his speech, the USTM VC also welcomed the students of the various colleges to visit and have access to the huge collection of books for competitive examinations in the Central Library of the University. His speech was followed by a constructive interactive session among the principals and representatives of the various colleges present in the session.
Principals and IQAC Coordinators along with their NSS Programme Officers of Tinsukia College; CNB College, Bokakhat; LCB College; Dispur College; Gauhati Commerce College; B. Borooah College; D.H.S. Kanoi College; D.H.S. K. Commerce College; JN College, Boko; MNC Balika Mahavidyalaya, Nalbari; and Nowgong College were present in the brainstorming session. USTM had also signed MoUs with Tinsukia College, CNB College, LCB College and Dispur College on the same occasion.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. R. K. Sharma, Advisor, USTM.
