75th Independence Day observed at USTM
Baridua, 9th Mile, Meghalaya, 15th August 2021: The 75th Independence Day has been observed at USTM in a solemn function today. The National Flag was hoisted at 8:00 am in the University campus by Shri Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor, USTM along with Prof. G.D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of the University. The flag hoist was followed by the National Anthem and speeches on Independence delivered by the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor.
Addressing the gathering, USTM Chancellor M Hoque said, “We should never forget the great sacrifices made by the Freedom Fighters to bring Independence for India. Educational institutions are to inculcate a sense of patriotism amidst the students as they are the future of the country. It should not also disqualify all possible mankind efforts of the present situation for the betterment of society ”.
Addressing the gathering Vice chancellor of USTM said “it was rightly termed this Independence Day as Azadi Ka Mahotsav by Government and we should understand the values of freedom and respect the country unity’. At the august gathering Security personals were felicitated for their extensive services. The function was participated by a considerable number of, teachers and staff members.
