72nd Republic Day observed at USTM

9th Mile, Ri Bhoi, Meghalaya, 26 January, 2021: As the Nation celebrated its 72nd Republic Day to remember when India’s Constitution came into force, the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya too celebrated the day with active participation of students, faculty members and administrative staff today at the USTM campus. The tricolor was unfurled at 8.15 AM in the morning by Prof. G.D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of the university, in the presence of Dr R K Sharma, Advisor to USTM, apart from other High Administrative officials.
“Students should work towards nation building and should take progress of the country as their foremost priority”, said Prof. G.D. Sharma while addressing the gathering. He advised the students to do constructive work for the nation and humanity, apart from their regular studies. Dr R K Sharma also addressed the gathering with a patriotic speech.
On the occasion, various sports activities were organized during the day for promotion of harmony and brotherhood. Sports and games like Blind hit (Tekeli bhanga/Haari bhanga) game, Tug-of-War, Musical Chair etc were held soon after the flag hoisting ceremony at the Amenity Centre of the university.
