Panel Discussion “NER VISION -2020 role of Universities & R & D Institutions”. Where most of VC of the north east participated in the panel discussion along with several renowned educationist and social activist. The event was held on 5th September, 2009.

Engineers day was celebrated on 15th September, 2009 by the foundation with pomp & gaiety to mark the birthday of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya, “father of Engineering” in India. Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (1860-1965) was called a wizard in engineering.

A Seminar on “TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION PROBLEMS IN THE CITY OF GUWAHATI” was organized by the foundation to highlight the problems faced by the Guwahati city at large.

NEDFI and ERD Foundation jointly organized a National seminar on commercial cultivation of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants in North East India on 10th February 2010.

ERD Foundation and NEIST, Jorhat (formerly RRL) jointly organized a International Conference on “Global Warming Climate change vis-à-vis management of Natural Resources in North East India” on 22nd and 23rd March 2010. The conferences treid to focus the impending impacts of climate change in the region and to find out ways and means top mitigate the same.

A cultural event was organised by Regional Institute of Science and Technology on the 5th May, 2010, in the campus performed by. Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, creator of the Mohan Veena and the winner of several prestigious awards like Sangeet Natak Academy, ‘Star of India’, Padmashree award, Honorary Citizenship award of USA and Canada and is amongst the very few Indians to receive the very prestigious Grammy Award in 1994, performed on the occasion and played the Vishwaranjini Raga accompanied by renowned tablist Pt Ram kr Mishra. This event was an attempt to promote the Indian Classical Music amongst the youth..

The ERD Foundation organized a talk on “The Management of Ethno Cultural Diversity in Higher Education” delivered by Prof. Marie Mc Andrew, Chairman, Ethnic studies, University of Montreal, Canada at Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Techno City, 9th Mile, Meghalaya affiliated to NEHU, on December 13th, 2010.

An felicitation cum interactive session was organized by ERD Foundation to honoured 9 (Nine) former Vice-Chancellors of the North Eastern Region in recognition of their contribution in the field of education & Research on the occasion of New Year’s Day 2011. His Excellency R.S. Mooshahary, hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya was the Chief Guest for the event. The following Vice Chancellors were felicitated during the ceremony: Dr D.N. The ERD Foundation organised a scientific talk on ‘Environment Degradation and its sustainability’ at the Regional Institute of Science & Technology in the outskirts of the city on 11th Febrauary, 2011. The talk was delivered by Prof Dr Ajit Varma, Director General, Amity Institute of Microbial Technology, Amity University, Noida, U.P. Faculty members of all educational institutions run by ERDF took part in the programme.
